The NEXT (Neutrino Experiment with a Xenon TPC) project is an international collaboration focused on searching for a rare nuclear process known as neutrinoless double-beta decay. This process, if observed, could provide crucial insights into the nature of neutrinos and help explain the imbalance between matter and antimatter in the universe.

The COLINA project aims to develop an innovative, single-phase noble-liquid time projection chamber with electroluminiscence amplification to detect coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering, a neutrino interaction which enables miniaturisation of otherwise massive neutrino detectors. The TPC’s unique conical shape will ‘funnel’ the drifting charges towards a small amplification region.
